2016-02-26/2019-02-11 - From the OHS PC Database Builders editor, updated February 25, 2016. - By the late 1800s, many builders had stopped making metal pipes, and were purchasing them instead from an early form of industry supplier, the (metal) pipe maker. Organ builders continued building their own wooden pipes, but depended on these new specialist firms for the metal ones. The partnership of Augustus L. Ware and his brother Marcellus A. Ware in Millis, Massachusetts, was one of these firms. The partnership was dissolved in 1899, when Augustus left the business. Marcellus Ware continued pipe making under his own name until his death in 1903.
