2018-05-07/2019-02-11 - Note from Organ Database Builders editor Charles Eberline, March 10, 2018. - The August 24, 1912, issue of The Music Trade Review carried the following brief article: ORGAN FACTORY FOR RICHMOND, VA. C. F. Winder Organ Co., of Cleveland, O., to Open Plant in Southern City and Will Build Their Own. (Special to The Review.) Richmond, Va., Aug. 19, 1912. An event of interest in industrial circles is the announcement that the C. F. Winder Organ Co., of Cleveland, O., will immediately establish a factory in Richmond. Temporary quarters have already been leased, the machinery is being installed and within a week the new enterprise expects to be turning out organs. The first organ to be built in Richmond will be a handsome instrument for St. Paul's Episcopal Church, South Norfolk, for which this company has the contract. As soon as a site can be secured the company will erect its own building.
