2004-10-30/2019-04-29 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North America Organ Builders, revised edition, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1997). - Born in Germany, 1823; in Cincinnati, Ohio, by 1853; organbuilder, serviceman; employee of Mathias [Schwab*]; (deathdate April 13, 1896?). *Fox only gives the name Mathias. Mathias Schwab was a German immigrant who operated an organbuilding firm in Cincinnati 1831-1860 and seems to be the most likely candidate for the person to whom Fox was referring. -Ed.
