2016-01-01/2019-02-11 - From the OHS PC Database, Builders Listing Editor, Jan. 1 2016. - Joseph Corkedale was a partner with Archie Marchie in the A & J Reed and Pipe Organ Service firm of Newburgh, New York.1 He was born May 17, 1940, in Newburgh. His musical career started at Hope Chapel in Salisbury Mills, New York playing for Sunday School on Sunday mornings and evening services. Over the course of 32 years working with organs, he built or restored organs for the Statford Park Commission and Museum in Statford, Conn. He designed and built 97 new pipe organs for various churches in the Hudson Valley and New York City. He also restored and maintained over 300 organs for various churches during his career. A lifetime resident of the Newburgh area, he was the organist in several local churches including Highland Mills Methodist Church, Vails Gate Methodist Church and St. Thomas Episcopal Church, retiring on Christmas Eve 1999, after 20 years of service.
