2019-12-13/2019-12-13 - From Organ Database Builders editor Charles Eberline, December 12, 2019. — Ralph G. Corlis received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto in 1970. He learned the basics of piano tuning from his father, who was a professional piano tuner. In 1978 he passed the Royal Toronto Conservatory grade 8 organ exam. From 1979 to 1983 he “designed and built state-of-the-art electronic coupler action, combination capture system and organ relays” and “installed these systems in major churches in Toronto and Ontario.” From 1982 to 1985 he worked for the Alan T. Jackson Co., assisting with organ tuning and repairs. Since 2005 he has been a technician and piano tuner for Cambridge Music Centre Inc.
