Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — John Firth was born October 1, 1879*; he was a partner with John Hall in Firth & Hall of New York City, New York, c. 1820-1847; he was also a music publisher and instrument dealer. *“1879” in David Fox’s Guide is a typo for “1789.” Firth died in Newtown, Long Island, New York, on September 10, 1864.
