He joined his father's company, Orgue Providence (Providence Organs), in 1955. Orgue Providence was a combination service and supply firm, building specialty parts for organbuilders. In the 1960s, the firm began constructing complete new organs. One of the staff members, Guy Therien, became a partner with Maurice Guilbault in the firm in the 1960s. In 1978, the company name was changed to Guilbault-Therien. Maurice retired in 1981, and Andre replaced him as the senior partner in the firm. Andre himself retired from management of the firm in 1992, but continued to work in the shop. Alain Guilbault (no relation), a staff member, replaced Andre as head of the firm.
