2015-08-28/2020-01-23 - From the OHS Database Builders Listing editor, April 13, 2016 - Sam Hovsepian moved from Coral Gables, Florida to Oakland, Florida in 1942. He served as mayor of Oakland for six years.1 The West Orange Chamber of Commerce presents an annual "Sam Hovsepian Outstanding Citizen Award" in his memory.2 He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.3 Hovsepian worked as an installer for Ernest Skinner in Florida. Working as an independent service technician in 1974, he and David Linebarger installed parts of Skinner Opus 473, originally at Florida State University, in the Riverside Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, augmenting Skinner Opus 533.4 See OHS Database ID 23112.
