Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Makers of water motors in Brooklyn, New York, 1870s. Water motors were often used to power blowers for organs prior to electricity becoming common. Municipal water pressure powered the motor which turned a drive shaft connected to the blower.—Ed.
