Better Pipe Organ Database

Charles Jantzen

Notes

2004-10-30/2019-09-13 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — With Kimball firm of Chicago, Illinois, director of education; with Rodgers firm of Hillsboro, Oregon; with Zero Enclosures of Burbank, California; representative of Wicks firm of Highland, Illinois, in southern California, 1991. W.W. Kimball ceased pipe organ production in 1942, but resumed building pianos after World War II, and later home model electronic instruments, thus Jantzen would not have worked with organs during that phase of his career. Rodgers company was founded in 1958, so his involvement with them was likely no early than the late 1960s when the company began to expand. —Ed. Source: The American Organist December 1991, 52.
