Laws (1914 - 1998) was the son of William W. Laws. The elder Laws had worked for the Austin Organ Co. of Hartford, Connecticut prior to establishing his own firm in Beverly, Massachusetts around 1921. The younger Laws learned the trade in his father's shop and succeeded his father, around 1950, when the founder retired. William F. Laws kept the firm active until the mid-1980s.
