Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). - Ira Bassett was the father of Frederick W. Bassett. He was active in Chicago, Illinois, in 1868, where he operated a service firm. He had previously built three organs in Barre, Vermont around 1860.
