Fox (Organ Historical Society, revised ed. 1997). — Born July 13, 1918 in Knoxville, Tennessee; organist; with Joe Brown Tuning Service of Knoxville, 1936; service work in Knoxville area under his own name 1938-1946; with the Schantz Organ Co. of Orrville, Ohio, 1946, as the first outside representative and tonal finisher; active with Schantz in 1996. Staff: Andrew Blake. He built at least six organs under his own name 1946-1983, including 25-rank tracker at Grace Lutheran Church, Knoxville, 1983. —Ed. Source: Letter to David H. Fox.
