2004-10-30/2019-10-07 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Clifford F. Marklove was born c. 1858 in New York; he was the son of John G. Marklove; and briefly succeeded his father in 1891, but he only led the firm until 1893. A. L. Barnes and Clarence E. Morey continued the firm thereafter as Morey & Barnes. Despite the change in nameplates, Morey & Barnes (1893-1896) continued the opus numbers from the Marklove firm. The opus numbers continued with the successor firm of C.E. Morey (1896-1935) as well. —Ed. Sources: Culver L.
