Mayse is a graduate of West Texas A&M University, 1972, with a Bachelor of Music Education, Organ. He obtained a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in educational/instructional technology from City University of Bellevue, Washington in 1998. He started with Reuter Organ Co. of Lawrence, Kansas in May 1972. He was Vice-President and Tonal Director, prior to leaving the company in October 1988. He later worked with KU Endowment, a foundation providing philanthropic support to the University of Kansas, retiring in May of 2015.
