2019-10-03/2019-10-03 - From Organ Database Builders editor Stephen Hall, October 2, 2019. — While a student at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, Ohio; Kevin McClure worked full-time with Charles Ruggles' firm in Olmstead Falls (now Berea), Ohio, from 1982-1984. After leaving Ruggles, McClure worked with John Leek in Oberlin for two years (1984-1986). In 1986, McClure moved to Princeton, New Jersey where he attended graduate school at Westminster Choir College. While there, he was also graduate assistant in organ maintenance, working for Curator of Organs, Ken Wolfe. McClure received his post-graduate degree from Westminster in 1988, and pursued a career in church music and teaching, serving at several churches and schools, most recently (since 2011) at Seminary of the Southwest (Episcopal) in Austin, Texas. He still does occasional tuning, minor service work, and consulting, but as a favor to friends, rather than as a part-time vocation. Source: Kevin McClure.
