David C. Beaty

Notes

2004-10-30/2019-04-29 - Derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders by David H. Fox (Organ Historical Society, 1991). Edited for the revised OHS Online Database website, 2017. - David C. Beaty was born Aug. 18, 1928. He was a partner of Richard S. Hartman in Hartman-Beaty Organ Co. of Englewood, New Jersey, c.1962* until 1980, and continued without Hartman 1980-1984. He relocated to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, 1985 and established a new firm, Beaty and Associates, specializing in restorative work and service. *The editor has added additional information to this entry from the entries for Hartman-Beaty Organ Co. and Beaty and Associates, and attempted to harmonize four related articles. The primary discrepancy is the start date and location for Hartman-Beaty Organ Co. The entry for Hartman-Beaty states that the company was started in Brooklyn, New York in 1963 and relocated to Englewood, New Jersey in 1964, the sources are identical to this entry. The entry for Richard Hartman puts the start date as 1963 in Englewood with David Beaty as the source. This entry gives the date as 1962 in Englewood presumably with David Beaty as the author of the letter to David Fox. –Ed.
