Adams & Son of Providence, Rhode Island, c. 1885-c. 1900; [with Henry Pilcher's Sons firm of Louisville, Kentucky;]* representative of Möller firm of Hagerstown, Maryland, in Orlando, Florida, 1944. * The text enclosed in brackets is an editorial correction. The original text reads "with Henry Pilcher & Sons firm of St. Louis, Missouri"-That firm name was used by the first Henry Pilcher with sons Henry [II] and William; the firm was active from 1856 to 1858. The correct firm is Henry Pilcher's Sons of Louisville, Kentucky, of which Adams is listed as a staff member. That firm had previously been known as "Henry Pilcher [II] & Sons" before the death of Henry II in 1891. The Louisville Pilcher firm was acquired by M. P. Möller in 1944.-Ed.
