2004-10-30/2019-09-26 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders by David H. Fox (Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Son of Reuben Midmer; partner with his father in Reuben Midmer & Sons, 1875; he purchased the firm from his father's estate, 1895; and relocated the firm from Brooklyn to Merrick, New York. He sold his interest in the firm to Maximillion Averbeck, c. 1915; the firm continued under the same name until 1924 when it became Midmer-Losh. Reed Midmer Sr. died May 27, 1918 in Merrick, New York. Sources: The Diapason July 1918, 9. David L.
