Frank T. Milner

Notes

2004-10-30/2019-09-06 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Born 11 August 1856 in Leeds, England; father of Wesley B. Milner; in Chicago, Illinois, 1895; with W. W. Kimball firm of Chicago, Illinois, c. 1901-1918, manager of organ department, 1905; in San Francisco, California, head of New York City, New York, branch [dates unknown, see note*]; died 4 July 1920 in Evansville, Indiana. We do not have definite dates for his time in New York, but it could have been as early as 1906 when he returned from San Francisco, but the end date must be no later than 1916 when his son, Wesley, is listed as manager in New York. Possibly father and son were in New York together at some point, the son remaining behind in New York when the father returned to Chicago. If so, Frank's time in New York would have been circa 1914-1915, but this is speculation. —Ed. Sources: The Diapason, August 1920, 13; and February 1925, 8. Louis J.
