2018-05-07/2019-10-17 - From Organ Database Builders editor Stephen Hall, March 12, 2018. — It is not clear what is meant by "acquired Votey Organ Co. as the L. D. Morris Co. of Chicago, Illinois, 1897, incorporated, 1916." The Votey Organ Co. of Detroit was formed in 1897 by the separation of Farrand-Votey. It merged with the Aeolian Co. of New York City in 1899. Perhaps Votey sold equipment to Morris when he formed the new company, or the date may have been incorrect and it was intended to be 1899 when Votey merged with Aeolian and redundant equipment may have been sold.
