2018-05-07/2019-02-11 - From Database Builders editor, Stephen Hall, April 14, 2018. - The California Organ Company was purchased by American Photo-Player of San Francisco, California. Photo-player built a line of smaller theater organs and acquired the Van Nuys factory to expand the firm by enabling it to build larger organs. The new subsidiary was named Robert-Morton. Photo-Player entered into partnerships with service firms around the United States to sell and service its instruments, J.D. Wheelan of Dallas, Texas was one of these partnerships. From the way the text is written in Fox's Guide, it is not clear if Niver worked for Photo-Player in San Francisco, then went to the Wheelan firm, or went from California to Texas to work with Wheelan as Photo-Player's agent and then became an employee of the Wheelan firm.
