2015-10-04/2019-10-02 - From Organ Database Builders editor Stephen Hall, October 2, 2019. — Obermeyer Organ Company was founded in 1960 by John F. Obermeyer. John had moved to Minnesota from Buffalo, New York, where he had worked for the Schlicker Organ Company since returning from service in the second world war. Mr. Obermeyer began a vibrant business in the Minneapolis area, representing the Schlicker Organ Company in sales and service. He also added other brands that he serviced over the years. Brian Sullivan joined the company in 1988, primarily as a woodworker and service technician. Brian apprenticed under Mr. Obermeyer, where he learned all of the various aspects of organ building, tuning, voicing and repair.
