Edited for the online Database. - Samuel Pierce was born in 1819 in Hebron, New Hampshire. He was an apprentice with E. & G.G. Hook of Boston, Massachusetts. He established Samuel Pierce Organ Pipe Co. of Reading, Massachusetts, in 1847; the firm acquired the H.L. Campbell firm in 1910. Pierce died in 1895 in Reading, Massachusetts.
