2004-10-30/2019-10-25 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Born c. 1839 in Connecticut; son of Henry Pilcher Sr.; active in St. Louis, Missouri, 1859. Apparently the same person as Thomas Edward Pilcher - See Note below. Sources: One or more local directories of the place and period. Stephen L. Pinel, "Organbuilders and Their Families: in the Population Schedules of the Federal and State Census Surveys", The Tracker: 32:1 (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1988), 23.
2016-02-14/2019-10-25 - From an e-mail from Bynum Petty, dated February 13, 2016. — "Henry Pilcher, Sr. had only three sons: Henry, Jr.; William; and Thomas Edward. There were also several daughters." Fox's Guide gives Edward Pilcher's birth date as 1839 and Thomas Edward Pilcher's as circa 1838. The two entries were apparently the same person. Perhaps the confusion was caused by Thomas Edward being known by his middle name. —Ed.
