2004-10-30/2019-10-24 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — French-German; father of Pierce F. Rivinac; immigrated to the United States, 1850; piano music composer in Jackson, Michigan, 1861-c. 1875; operated organ factory in Benton, {state unknown}*, which survived beyond 1920; died 1915 in Benton, age 85. *Benton, Arkansas is the largest community by that name in the United States and seems the most likely candidate. There is also a Benton, Iowa, but the population is very small. —Ed. Source: Jean Paul Rigaut.
