2004-10-30/2019-11-21 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Max Schuelke was born April 10, 1878; he was the son of William Schuelke, and brother of William J. Schuelke. He entered the family business of William Schuelke Organ Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and became head of firm in 1902 with his father's departure. The firm went bankrupt in 1914, Max established Max Schuelke Organ Co., c. 1917, it remained as a business until 1933. Thereafter, Max continued doing organ and piano service in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
