The brothers went separate ways in 1877, Karel in Leeuwarden and Piet in Ansterdam. Karel's branch ended with the second generation with the death of Karel's son, Lem. Piet's branch in Ansterdam remained in business, with the retirement of Piet, his son Joseph continued the business until his retirement when his nephew, Hubert Saber, became the third head of the firm. His son Antoine followed him as head of the firm and the last family member to hold that title. In 2002, employee Ronald Vala became the head of the firm which remains a private company. The company builds organs in an eclectic style, while rooted in the French Romantic, it is influenced by the German Romantic, and neo-Classic styles, and by the Dutch organ legacy. The firm has built instruments with mechanical key action and various types of pneumatic and electrical actions as well.
