Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991; rev. ed., 1997, with updated information). - Born 1850; son of Alfred Symmes; with Jardine firm of New York City, New York, superintendent; partner with George A. Chapman in Chapman & Symmes of New York City; acquired Labagh & Kemp of New York City, 1891; with Hall Organ Co. of New Haven, Connecticut, 1912; died 1931.
