2004-10-30/2019-10-04 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Temple & Howard succeeded the Coburn Organ Co. of Chicago in 1934 [Walter Coburn died in November, 1934]. The partnership was active in Chicago, Illinois, 1934-1935; with Arthur R. Temple as principal. The firm was last listed in 1935; it was succeeded by the A. R. Temple firm. There are no instruments by Temple and Howard in the Organ Database. This may be because of the short time the firm was in business, or it may have been a service firm rather than builder. —Ed.
