Temple was born in 1888 in Southampton, England. He was with Robert Hope-Jones in England; then with the South of England Organ Co. He immigrated to the United States and was with the Wurlitzer firm of North Tonawanda, New York, 1910. He moved to the Midwest and was with the W. W. Kimball firm of Chicago, Illinois; then with the Wangerin firm of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a representative of the Casavant firm of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, for 20 years; a partner in Temple & Howard of Chicago, Illinois, 1934-1935, (successors of Coburn Organ Co.); and established his own firm, A. R. Temple of Chicago, Illinois, after 1936. Arthur Temple died January 6, 1961 in Castro Valley, California. Source: The Diapason, February 1961, 38.
