2004-10-30/2019-10-09 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Born in Hampstead, England, 1905; with Rushworth & Dreaper firm of England; with Nicholson firm of Worcester, England; with Hill & Sons firm of England; with Norman & Beard of Norwick, England Turpin immigrated to the United States in 1952; he was briefly with the Standaart firm of Suffolk, Virginia, voicer; and with Austin Organ Inc. of Hartford, Connecticut, voicer. He began with the Fred H. Meunier firm of Denver, Colorado, 1953. When Meunier retired, he sold the business to Turpin and another employee, Ivan P. Morel in 1960, they operated it as Meunier & Associates. Turpin retired in 1970, Morel continued the firm as Ivan P. Morel and Associates. Turpin died in December, 1991 in Denver, Colorado, age 86.
