2004-10-30/2019-10-17 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — Son of Nicolaas Van Hirtum (1752-1810), an organbuilder. Apprenticed with father. Partner with his brother, Bernard Petrus in Gebroeders van Hirtum 1810-17. Built at least 2 organs on his own. Relocated to Amsterdam, Netherlands c. 1817; he was in St. Louis, Missouri, 1818, as a music teacher, and organbuilder.
