Born April 9, 1877 in Battersea, England; immigrated to the United States, 1882; with Odell firm of New York City, New York; in Spanish-American War with Edward Jardine; with Jardine firm of New York City, New York, for two years; with Hutchings-Votey firm of Boston, Massachusetts; with Ernest M. Skinner firm of Dorchester, Massachusetts, c. 1915, 'benchman'; with A. B. Felgemaker of Erie, Pennsylvania; established his own firm in Columbus, Ohio, 1908; city councilman, 10 years, mayor of Columbus, Ohio, 1932-1936; died August 5, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio.
