Notes

2004-10-30/2020-04-09 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North America Organ Builders by David H. Fox (Organ Historical Society, 1991). -- Of Nashville, TN. Active c. 1965. Received from Everett Hertenstein, a personal friend of Mr. Koellein, electronically August 2009: J. Alex Koellein (died 1977) worked from his home on Cedarwood Drive, Nashville, Tennessee roughly 1960-1977. He started doing organ maintenance primarily in Nashville after building in his home a 21 rank organ composed of a mixture of used parts -- starting from a four 4 rank unit Wurlitzer chest and relay in the late 1930s. (I became very familiar with the Wurlitzer chest. I re-leathered the chest and completely re-wired the relay.) He primarly did maintenance and additions to existing organs.
