Notes

2010-04-15/2024-04-16 - From the Nolte Organ Building website, accessed Nov 14, 2015 -- John M. Nolte founded the company in 1987 as a sole proprietor. He performed area service work, re-builds, built new instruments and additions. He also specialized in wood pipe making, which became his main focus for several years. He retained ties with his former employer American Organ Supplies (AOS), scaling and voicing wood pipes for them, as well as some custom electro-pneumatic chest work. John's son Benjamin became a partner in the business in June of 2000. The firm is now located in a new shop in West Allis, WI, and has eight employees (full and part time). In addition to building and service work, the firm is a supplier of high-end wood pipes, including reproductions of antique wood pipes for collectors of automatic musical instruments.
