2004-10-30/2019-04-29 - From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). - Alphonse O. Brungardt was born in November of 1894 in Victoria, Kansas. He was a graduate of the University of Chicago, 1918. After graduating, he joined an accounting firm in 1919; then he was with Walworth Co. of Kewanee, Illinois, 1920. At some point in the 1920s he moved east and began with Estey Organs of Brattleboro, Vermont, 1933, becoming treasurer and general manager; and eventually owning one-third of Estey. Brungardt died 24 December, 1942 in Brattleboro, Vermont. Source: The Diapason, Feb 1943, 1.
