(Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991; rev. ed. 1997, with updated information). Edited and revised with new information for the online builders listing, January 1, 2018.- Husband of Ruth E. Brunner; a graduate of Lehigh University; Raymond J. Brunner was with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for eight years before beginning with J. R. McFarland & Co. of Millersville, Pennsylvania, where he worked for two years. He was partner with Alan E. Heller in Brunner & Heller Organbuilders of Marietta, Pennsylvania, from February of 1981. The firm relocated to Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, in 1983. Brunner became the sole owner of the firm in October, 1984 doing business as R. J. Brunner & Co.; the firm was active in 1995. 2018-05-07/2019-02-11 - Note from Organ Database Builders editor Charles Eberline, November 11, 2017. - The firm is now Brunner & Associates in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (the mailing address is in Silver Spring, Pennsylvania.) The change of name was announced in the "Organ Builders” column in The Diapason 107, no. 5 (May 2016): 12: "R. J. Brunner & Co. - Organ Builders has changed its name to Brunner & Associates LLC - Organ Builders, to reflect the new partnership formed between the original owner, Raymond Brunner and two longtime employees, Thomas Becker and Hans Herr. The new business will remain in its current location of 32 years at 3540 Marietta Avenue, Silver Spring, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania."
