2018-05-07/2019-02-11 - Note from Organ Database Builders editor Charles Eberline, December 24, 2017. - Lawrence Reed Buddington was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 30, 1928.1 He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a high school science teacher in the Agawam and Springfield, Massachusetts, school systems. From 1946 onward, he was also organist and choir director at several churches in the Springfield area, including the First Congregational Church in Westfield and Bethesda Lutheran Church, Springfield. At the time of his death, he was organist and choirmaster at the First Congregational Church of West Springfield. (His obituary says nothing about his position with Theodore Gilbert Associates.)
