Notes

2025-02-15 - From the Mount Vernon Argus (August 7, 1893: "A beautiful new organ has been placed in the above church by Jardine & Son., of N. Y. City. The organ presents a very pretty appearance. The case is of ash trimmed with cherry, the front pipes are grouped on either side with the large ones in the middle decorated in gold and colors, the whole appearance being in keeping with the decoration of the church. The pipes are made of the standard spotted metal which has about forty per cent of pure block tin in its composition, giving a rich and mellow tone, unobtainable in any other way. The voicing is purely Jardine and its general construction is simple, strong and durable. We congratulate this church upon having such a magnificent instrument. It is sure to give satisfaction. The instrument is built in such a way as to insure freedom from the annoyances that most always go with new organs." -Andrew Henderson
