Notes

2004-10-30 - The case is "finished in black walnut, which harmonizes with the finish of the interior of the church. The many golden pipes and the general color scheme is most effective. The power is furnished by a water motor. There are two banks of keys. The instrument weighs 8,000 pounds, and fills most of the channel [sic] annex to the main building formerly occupied by the choir." True Republican, 15 June 1904. -Database Manager

2004-10-30 - The organ was first heard on June 21, 1904, in a recital given by Prof. H. W. Mattack, of Chicago, formerly pipe organ instructor at Oberlin college, who was assisted by the Universalist choir. -Database Manager
