Notes

2004-10-30 - Status Note: There 2004. -Database Manager

2004-10-30 - Dedicated 24 Jan 1934. The organ has suffered water damage in recent years. Ongoing restoration being carried out by Kegg Pipe Organ Bulders as of 2004. -Database Manager

2017-11-24 - Updated by Peter Davis, who has heard or played the organ. I was Organist-Choirmaster at Ascension 1999-2005. The parish moved to another facility in 2014. Most furnishings were sold at auction, save for the Kimball and the Steinway Grand (1888). Turned over to the Diocese, the building was de-consecrated, being converted (eventually) to senior/low income housing. Sanctuary to be used for performing arts and community gatherings. Future of the Kimball is uncertain. (Choir division became unusable shortly after the Swell was returned to service by Niagara Organ Works, and the organ's wind pressures and tuning (altered 1970s by Delaware) were restored, as well. A shame: a glorious organ in a glorious acoustic! -Database Manager

2018-05-07 - Rescinded by act of National Council, February 18, 2008. -Database Manager

2024-02-09 - As of late 2023, the instrument is no longer whole. Some of it has been incorporated into the Schlicker-Hope Jones, et. al. at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Buffalo. Some parts - including the oak drawknob console - remain in the building. An unfathomable loss in this day and age... -Peter Davis
