2011-05-11 - Updated through online information from William Dunklin. -- The facility, a large, Gothic revival, Akron plan church was built as Second Presbyterian Church. In the late 1950's Second Presbyterian moved a new, suburban location, taking 10 bells but not the organ. First Congregational bought and moved into the former 2nd Presbyterian building. Subsequently, First Congregational became UCC Church of the Savior and built a new facility also in a suburban location. The 2nd Presbyterian / 1st Congregational building was torn down and Lawson-McGhee public library built on the site. The Austin organ, or some of its pipes were supposedly removed, but no record of its current location has surfaced. -Database Manager

2015-05-14 - Updated through online information from Randall Dyer. -- With the exception of the console and a few pipes, the organ, which was in very bad mechanical condition, largely went down with the building -Database Manager
