2012-06-28 - Updated through online information from Richard Hugunine. -- E-mail from John Cardoni jcardoni@scrantonculturalcenter.org : Actually, there are two pipe organs here at the Scranton Cultural Center, the smaller one being in our fourth floor theater. Both were built by the Austin Organ Co., opus numbers 1712 and 1713, and you can look up specific information on both at the Organ Historical Society Database website. Both are still here. The smaller one is still playable but hardly ever used. We just completed a restoration study of the larger one and will likely embark on that project this coming fall. At it's completion the organ will be playable - we expect that to be as early as next summer. -Database Manager
2024-09-07 - Console was in the orchestra pit in the 1970's. Pipes above stage and boxes. Building under went renovations in the 1980's. Organ has been 'In Storage' for decades (before renovations). No word if it will ever be returned to the auditorium. Information received online from Jim Tartella on 2024-09-02 -Paul R. Marchesano
2025-01-02 - In the smaller, older photo of the auditorium from the left balcony, you can see the organ console in front of the stage (dead center of photo) in the far right of the orchestra pit. I remember seeing it there as a kid, but it is no longer there. -Jim Tartella
