2009-09-06 - Updated through online information from robert nagy. -- I was a member of St. Gerard from 1974 to approx. 1985. The organ is a 2/23 and a half. Half a rack of one ped. stop was traded out for toe studs. I believe that the organ was installed in 1964. This is the year that the permanent church was built. It is located in a raised balcony above the choir loft. It speaks quite beautifully into the church and has a nice finish because of the use of tarrazzo floor and wood ceiling. It has been quite some time since I was there to play this wonderful organ, but I did speak to the pastor several weeks ago and was told that it is in good condition. The organ is: great and pedal exposed, swell under expression all behind a screening of radio cloth. Only the 16' pedal Principal forms the facade, directly in front of the screening. It is a nicely done effect. The tremulant on the swell is the revolving paddle. -Database Manager
2018-04-03 - Updated by William M. Worden<br> St. Gerard was merged with Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in 2006 and the result was named Corpus Christi Parish. The Immaculate Heart campus was not retained and the St. Gerard buildings remain in use under the title Corpus Christi. Technically, St. Gerard Parish was closed in 2006. -Database Manager
