2015-06-14 - This is a rebuild of an existing organ. Identified by Jeremy Horth, based on personal knowledge of the organ.
The organ was originally installed in the original church on Second Avenue (the space is now occupied by The City Church). In 2002 the present edifice was dedicated. A year later in 2003 the organ was moved from the previous building to the current building.
The organ has also had three alterations in the history of its service with the congregation, In the mid 1970s (while the congregation was still meeting at the Second Ave. building), four stops were added. In 2003 when the organ was moved, new windchests installed, as well as a solid state system and the addition of three additional stops including a 32' Bourdon and Bombarde in the pedal (the lower 12 notes are digital). The 2003 modifications were led by Larry Krusie of the Freeport Organ Company, and Organist Richard Harman.
The organ today is still very active with the congregation, the instrument's location above the reader's podium is ideal for tonal egress. The organ has a facade of some of the Great division principals. The remaining pipes are located behind grey coloured fabric grilles to the center left and right of the speaker's platform, the console is located on the right hand side of the platform. Despite being a carpeted worship space the organ has no trouble being acoustically dead, particularly the reeds on the swell division. -Database Manager
