2018-02-26 - Updated by Steven Bartley, naming this as the source of information: National Republican., 1/2/1884 Pg 5; Washington Post Dec 12, 1929 pg7. In addition Steven Bartley gave this as a source of information: old National City Christian Church website.<br> At the time of the opening of the church, the "National Republican" article said that a small Delaware organ was being used, until the permanent organ, which was being built in Boston, and costing $1,500. was completed. In Dec. 1929, the congregation sold the building and moved in with the newly founded National City Christian Church, a few blocks away. "Mount Olivet Lutheran Church" presently owns the building. This writer serviced the organ in the Mount Olivet building, during the 1990s. At this time a small unit Wicks organ was located in the balcony, possibly dating from the 1950s. The pulpit area has been redecorated with a large Victorian style altar and what appears to be parts of the Hook facade woodwork as part of the reredos, behind the altar. -Database Manager
