2015-02-16 - Updated through online information from William Dunklin. -- The Second Presbyterian building was completed in November 1840. In 1961 this congregation merged with Irving Avenue Presbyterian. The combined congregation retained the 2nd Presbyterian building but chose a new name - Bethany Presbyterian. In 2012 the congregation separated from the Presbyterian church and now uses the name Bethany Grace Memorial Community Church, still occupying the same facility. A newspaper photograph from January 2015 shows the organ case still standing at the front center of the room. Status of the organ is unknown. -Database Manager
2020-11-14 - from - Morning News, Wilmington DE (11/14/1891 pg. 1) & Daily Republican Wilmington DE ( 12/23/1893, pg. 4) Both papers announce that organ builder John Brown was working on the organ at 2nd Presbyterian, Brighton NJ. The Daily Republican, also says Brown was rebuilding the Hook & Hastings instrument. -Steven Bartley
