Notes

2005-03-01 - Identified from company publications as edited and expanded in The Hook Opus List 1829-1935, ed. William T. Van Pelt (Organ Historical Society, 1991). -Database Manager

2015-04-18 - Updated through online information from scot huntington. -- If a stock model instrument, this would have been Size No. 8, (see the OHS publication "the Hook Opus List"). The church acquired a tubular-pneumatic 2-15 Reuben Midmer & Sons installed in the rear gallery in 1914, most likely the replacement for this instrument. -Database Manager

2025-02-15 - According to information contained in the files of the Carnegie Corporation re: the new Midmer organ installed in the church in 1913, the Hook organ was purchased in 1870 for $2,000 and was "worn out; a number of stops out of commission. Needs constant repairs, very unsatisfactory. We cannot consistently dispose of it by sale. May be compelled to resort to secondhand man." -Andrew Henderson
