2021-02-15 - Originally identified as installed at Christ Church, Episcopal (Old Christ Church) in a chapel, that building never had a chapel. Christ Church Chapel was established 1870 at a separate location and opened 1877 and consecrated 27 April 1886. There seemed to be strife between the chapel congregation and the primary congragation of Christ Church from the beginning. Public sermons and published reactions to speeches were puclished 1878-1880 at least. By 1880 the congregation had separated and held services under the name, Church of the Holy Communion, which the bishop disapproved. The building at some point later became Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, retaining the organ. The church closed and the building was sold to a developer c. 2010-12. I believe the organ was removed to storage, but have not confirmed that as of this date. -Paul R. Marchesano
